Automated Container Tracking & Transport Logistic Munich
New Feature: Automated Container Tracking via Artificial Intelligence
With this new feature, SPOT receives all relevant tracking information (vessel departure, arrival at transshipment points, arrival at port of discharge, etc.) directly from vessel operators on container level. If information from vessel operators is missing or delayed, the vessel’s position and thus the current position of the container is determined via GPS. An algorithm then calculates all planned data for the next events and updates potential deviations. SPOT, therefore, enables our customers to easily and accurately keep track of their sea freight container shipments and so provides data for independent calculation of demurrage and detention times.
So far, the new tracking service of SPOTworx was only available via interface between SPOT and our customers’ systems. Now, the new feature is also available in our user interface. Still, of course, SPOT notifies users of any relevant milestones according to their preferences and enables smooth information exchange on shipment level.

SPOTworx at the Transport Logistic Munich
We are very much looking forward to attending this year’s transport logistic exhibition in Munich from June 4 to 7, 2019. SPOTworx will participate in cooperation with cargo-partner – a valuable long-time partner who has played a fundamental role in the development of our SPOT Visibility & Collaboration Platform since its launch in the year 2000. Today, SPOT has more than 20,000 users worldwide.
To celebrate our almost 20 years of successful cooperation with cargo-partner, we will be sharing a booth at this year’s transport logistic, giving visitors a chance to experience our services from the perspective of one of our most important partners and customers.
